NMSU Extension to host Southwest Pregnancy Check Clinic in Deming March 12-14

Researchers at New Mexico State University’s Veterinary Entomology Research Laboratory are looking at how the growth and

New Mexico State University’s Hidalgo County Cooperative Extension Service will collaborate with other county offices to host the Southwest Pregnancy Check Clinic March 12-14 in Deming, New Mexico.

The Catron, Luna, Otero and Sandoval County Extension offices and the Department of Extension Animal Sciences and Natural Resources also will provide support at the clinic.

The pregnancy check clinic will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 12 at Quality Inn, 4600 East Pine Street, Deming, and then from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 13 and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 14 at Blandford Farms, 6900 South Columbus Road, Deming. The fee is $500.

The clinic will provide producers with the opportunity to gain knowledge about their cattle’s reproduction system and the ability to palpate and track the pregnancy stages of their cows. This program is designed as an awareness course for producers, not a certification.
